Languedoc Roussillon is the largest wine producing region in the world. Traditional and new world methods are being used to create award winning reds, whites, rosé, sparkling and sweet wines. We can recommend wineries where you can taste their particular nectar. Alternatively you could take a day or half day organised wine tour. Take a look at our links page for some ideas.
The beaches close to us are safe and clean. For a lovely simple beach days, head to Serignan or Portiranges. Enjoy lunch in one of the beach restaurants or take a beer and tapas as the sun sets over the sea.
For sporty water lovers you can Kayak or hydrospeed down the river Orb. If that seems too hectic, there are many spots to swim or dip your toes to cool off. We can organise fly fishing or you can visit the amazing Gorges d'Heric where you and swim in the rock pools or walk right to the top. The pretty villages of Roquebrun and Olargues are surrounded by stunning scenery. Roquebrun is known as "le Petit Nice" with it's micro climate and Mediterranean Gardens.

In order for you to get a feel for what Autignac has to offer you, we have dedicated a page to it. Our little village is friendly, pretty and well placed to wander to and from or to head further afield for days out.
There are many routes to be taken on foot or on a bike which is the best way to see the countryside of the Languedoc. We can provide ideas for leisurely strolls or day long hikes. Cyclists can potter through the vines or head into the hills. For horse lovers there are riding stables close by too.
Languedocien cities all have their tales to tell and are steeped in history. Béziers, Montpellier, Narbonne, Pézenas and Carcasonne are all within an hour or so. You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to festivals - music, dance, food, wine. These colourful events take place in the smallest of villages to the larger of the cities
From the markets of Pezenas and Bedarieux to the Halles of Beziers and Narbonne the variety of fresh, seasonal produce is too good to miss. You can pick up all you need for lunch - organic breads creamy goats cheese, properly sun ripened tomatoes and olives and juicy white peaches. You will be instantly uplifted. Books have been written on the food of the Languedoc..it can become obsessive.
If you love the sea and seafood, the Bassin de Thau cannot be missed. Visit the villages of Meze and Bouzigues to get to grips with oyster and mussle production and the pretty fishing village of Marseillan to taste them in one of the splendid restaurants. Marseillan is also home to Noilly Prat and is where the Canal du Midi runs into the Mediterranean. At the western point of the Bassin sits Sete - a colourful, busy and fascinating port. Go there in the summer to watch the sea water jousting.
The plant trees that line the Canal du Midi offer it's visitors welcome shade on hot days. You can walk, cycle or cruise along this amazing waterway which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a picnic to the Canal at Beziers to watch the barges descent 25 metres through 9 locks. (les neufs ecluses)
If you want a day off the beach, then Adge has an aqua park, fun fair and aquarium. Valras and Gruissan are smaller and have good play parks and marinas to watch the boating world go by. We have kayaking and go-karting are close by. The Sigean Nature Reserve is a good family day out. It covers nearly 300 hectares and houses nearly 4000 wild animals. Please see our
